Our Mission

WORSHIP.

The Word of God says we are to worship the Lord Jesus Christ in our every day lives individually, as well as together, as the body of Christ. Worship is crucial for the growth and development of all believers. At Sweet Water Baptist Church, we worship in prayer, song, praise, testimony, preaching, fellowship, and outreach.

PROCLAIM.

As believers in the Word of God, enabled by the Spirit of God, we seek to proclaim the Gospel locally, nationally, and internationally, as Jesus commanded us to do in the Great Commission. It is our goal that our church reaches the lost in Sweet Water and throughout the world, proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, Messiah, and is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can get to Heaven except through Him and His sacrifice on the cross to atone for all the sins of mankind.

DEVELOP.

The book of James tells us to be doers of the Word, and not hearers only. Our church seeks to develop disciples by pouring into its members utilizing Spirit-lead worship, Bible study, discipleship groups (D-Groups), and providing multiple outreach and mission opportunities throughout the year. As believers, we must be intentional about serving the LORD daily and seeking His will for our lives. It is His will for every believer to mature and become more Christ-like every day. It is imperative that we do as the apostle Paul said and diligently seek to use our gifts to glorify God and expand His kingdom, while also growing and developing new gifts as we continue our process of sanctification. That only happens through daily Bible study, prayer, and intentionally sharing our faith, while also being the hands and feet of Jesus and serving the needs of others daily.
