Bro. Ty Glass - Minister of Students

Ty Glass was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on June 21, 2020 at SWBC. He has served as Minister of Students of SWBC since 2016. He and his wife, Rachel, served as summer missionaries in the Andes Mountains of Peru in 2011 through IMB. He served as youth minister at First Presbyterian Church in Aliceville, Alabama, from 2013-2015. He organizes MARCOPOLO, Mission Montana, the Peru Partnership, and Discipleship Now. He has served on mission trips in several states, as well as Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Peru. Ty is also the STEM teacher at Sweet Water High School and is the head softball coach. He and Rachel have 3 children: Anna Beth (6), Judah Paul (3), and Selah Faith (1).

Mrs. Sharon Irvin - Secretary

Sharon Irvin has served as secretary of SWBC since June of 2007. She also is co-owner and office manager of Irvin Dozer Service LLC. She and her husband, Scott, have been married for 25 years. They have 2 daughters, 2 son-in laws, 1 grandson, and 1 granddaughter.

Mrs. Miranda Blakeney

Miranda Blakeney leads Wednesday night ministries for children grades 1-6. She has done so at SWBC for the last 3 years. Her ministries include Bible study and Easter/Christmas Cantatas. She also leads as part of our Children’s Committee to organize events for our children and their families. She works as manager for Hamilton Timber Company’s office in Nanafalia, Alabama. She and her husband, Tyler, have been married for 7 years. They have a 4 year old daughter (Anna Lowry) and a 1 year old son (Mac).

Mrs. Candy Thompson - Clerk

Candy Thompson grew up in SWBC. She has been a member since 1980, and has used her many talents in several ways to help the church over the years. She has served as church clerk since 2010. She has been the lead school nurse at Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Alabama, since 2001. She and her husband, Pat, have been married for 27 years. They have 4 children, a son-in-law, and a daughter-in-law.
