“When we approach the Lord of all things, all we really and truly have to offer is ourselves…and that is all He wants.”

- quote from Commissioning Sermon by Rev. Mike Snow, Director of Missions for the Bethel Baptist Association, May 30, 2021

On June 1, 2021, 32 missionaries from Sweet Water Baptist Church (a few of them from other churches as well) flew out of Mobile, AL, to Missoula, MT, to help Bro. Morris and Barbara Hill spread the Gospel in a small town called St. Regis, MT. There were 3 objectives on this trip:

  1. Thoroughly clean St. Regis High School inside and out.

  2. Build a roof over a trailer that was in need of new roofing.

  3. Host a VBS (locally known as a summer club) for local kids in the town park.

All of these objectives had one ultimate goal: showing these people the love of Jesus Christ, and praying that it lead them to believe in Him. Well, God moved! There were several people who accepted Christ on this trip, including 2 local teenagers! God truly moved in many ways and used this group and His hands and feet to love on the people and help them see Who Jesus is.

People who went on the trip: Ty Glass, Rachel Glass, Anna Beth Glass, Judah Paul Glass, Selah Glass, Jennah Glass, David Etheridge, Timmy Etheridge, Jake Schroeder, Guy Schroeder, Tonya Schroeder, Bruce Baker, Gayle Baker, Trace Luker, Payton Averette, Grady Taylor, Bro. Davis, Tony Echols, Laura Echols, Abby Freeman, Ava Hill, Brendan Hill, Jonathan Thompson, Brianna Thompson, Wesley Thompson, and Alastor Thompson.

The trip took a total of 9 days. The group spent the first day there learning the area and meeting some of the locals. The scenery and weather were especially beautiful! We spent 5 days working on cleaning St. Regis High School, as well as building a new stand-alone roof over a trailer in the local trailer park. We were able to meet some New Day Fellowship’s congregation, and also see the beginnings of the new pastorium that was being built (and is now finished!). We spent some free time at the Bison Range and also white-water rafting on the Blackfoot River just east of Missoula.
